Book Report

In school, I did a book report on the book "The Story of Alexander the Great". This book is written by Sofia Zarabouka, a famous Greek Author, it was written in Greek but then translated into English and published. Also, this book has many very colorful and overall nice drawings including the portrait of Alexander the Great as the front cover. I wrote about many things on my book report chart: setting, characters, awards that the book won (or should have) won. This book is about the life of Alexander the Great- where he was born, his childhood, how he chose his horse, how a man murdered his father and he became king and all about his famous conquering of Persia, India and other countries. He was a brilliant tactical leader and never lost a battle, he was even called "Master of Asia". First, he took many men (i think about 10, 000) and set out for Asia instead of his father (who was murdered a little while before). He first fought against Persian King Darius (2 or 3rd) and conquered almost all of Persia. Darius' friends murdered him in his sleep when they thought they lost (they did). In every outpost, he left a garrison to rule it. Next, he conquered Egypt and he built a city which is named after him: Alexandria, he also conquered India and some other countries. He died in Babylon because of a sickness. Overall, he was a brilliant military general (leader), was a smart man and is still known today because he let the people he conquered have their own beliefs and he even changed along the way. (This is a picture of my book report, it is the one on brown paper.)
